Data Standards

All salary data published on CareerOS must be sourced from at least two independent public or crowdsourced compensation databases. Primary sources include the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, LinkedIn Salary, Glassdoor, and Levels.fyi. Data from a single source is never published without corroboration.

Update Cycle

Salary data is reviewed and updated on a quarterly basis. Pages display a "Last Updated" date so readers can assess data freshness. In fast-moving markets (particularly technology), we may update more frequently when significant market shifts occur.

Scope of Claims

CareerOS salary figures represent base compensation only. We explicitly exclude equity, signing bonuses, annual performance bonuses, and non-cash benefits from salary ranges unless specifically noted. Total compensation can be significantly higher, especially at technology companies.

Geographic Accuracy

State-level salary data is based on reported compensation in each state. City-level estimates apply a city-specific cost multiplier to state medians. City estimates are labeled as estimates and should be treated as directional rather than precise.

Advertising & Independence

CareerOS is supported by display advertising. Ad revenue does not influence editorial decisions. Salary data, career guides, and tool recommendations are never influenced by advertiser relationships. We do not accept payment for featured content or preferred placement in salary tables.

Errors & Corrections

If you identify factual inaccuracies in our salary data or editorial content, please contact us. We investigate all reported errors and issue corrections within 5 business days when errors are confirmed. Corrections are documented in the page update history.
